Chief Operating Officer

Alda Licis serves as Chief Operating Officer of Verta, a leading developer and operator of fundamental digital infrastructure including poles for telecom carrier colocation, towers and turnkey fiber solutions. Alda led the start-up of Verta in 2019 as VP Infrastructure.
Alda is an investor and founding member of Plenary Broadband Infrastructure (PBI Fiber). PBI Fiber owns, develops, operates, and commercializes middle-mile fiber routes for hyperscalers, telecom carriers, fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) providers and data center operators.
Prior to joining Verta, Alda was Principal/Owner of Front Range Infrastructure Consulting, LLC advising clients in the fiber and wireless industry.
Previously, she worked at the Zayo Group holding several roles over her five-year tenure including managing the P&L for zColo, the data center business unit, developing Zayo’s first Small Cell implementation team, managing large-scale fiber deployments, and managing multiple Product teams responsible for strategic pricing of all dark fiber-based products (metro, long haul and FTT/Small Cell). Alda’s client base included major wireless carriers, hyperscalers, regional and national wholesalers and large enterprise.
Prior to Zayo, Alda managed the Chicago and Federal engineering offices for EYP Mission Critical Facilities, a data center design and consulting company which was acquired by Hewlett Packard.
Alda began her career as a licensed Electrical Engineer designing power systems for commercial buildings.
Alda currently serves as a thought leader on the Innovation and Technology Council of the Wireless Infrastructure Association, where she shares her thoughts and forecasts for the wireless industry. She also volunteers as a Network Advisor for the Blackstone Entrepreneurs Network Colorado, advising scale-up business executives on strategic challenges.
She holds an Engineering degree from the University of Colorado and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.
